Empowering Professionals Through Change: A Speaker’s Perspective on Resilience and Growth

Not long ago, I was sitting on the other side of change.
As a former corporate professional, expat, and mother, I’ve had my fair share of transitions, some chosen, others unexpected. There were moments when even I, someone who now host sessions about resilience, was struggling to hold myself up.
Change felt heavy. The identity shifts, the uncertainty, the pressure to show up while I was still figuring things out behind the scenes…
But here’s the thing: resilience wasn’t about having all the answers.
It’s about staying with the questions long enough to grow through them.
Last week, I had the privilege of speaking at Women@ Western Union Global Circle, hosted by the Vienna branch, on a topic that’s not only professional for me; but deeply personal: "Building Everyday Resilience and Handling Change"

Around 100 people joined us in a powerful hybrid session, both in-person and online. The engagement was incredible, the space was well-designed, and the energy was real!
With the keynote and interview we explored:
💎 The phases of change and how to navigate through them.
💎 How to lead with empathy, even when you’re struggling yourself.
💎 How to shift from survival mode into sustainable strength with resilience frameworks.
We also had real conversations about mindset, emotional fatigue, and why resilience today requires individual, team and organisational alignment.
This session was a reflection of the work I now do to support professionals in aligning their mental, emotional, physical, and even spiritual well-being, so they don’t just cope with life and work… they thrive in it.
Whether it's guiding expats through identity shifts, helping leaders navigate transitions, or supporting teams to harmonise performance without burnout, I believe we all deserve a life and career that reflects our true values.
This event reminded me:
✅ We can not wait for the perfect moment to lead or navigate through change.
✅ We need to show up anyway, and build our capacity to stay grounded in motion!
Thank you dear Lisa Bell, Elena A and Ivana Vujosevic for having me and making me feel more than welcomed at your inspiring event!
Warmly,
Dilek
